Admissions

Starting Reception

The application process is open from September and the deadline is in the January before your child is eligible to start school in September.

Is your child due to start primary school in September 2024?

If your child was born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020 you should apply for a reception place for September 2024.   From 1st September 2023 you can apply online at:  www.eadmissions.org.uk  (closing date for online applications is Monday 15th January 2024).

We arrange tours of the school during the Autumn term for prospective parents/carers and we are always pleased to answer any queries.

In September 2024 we will be admitting 90 children.

Applications for a primary school place at Sandhurst Primary School are processed centrally by the London Borough of Lewisham’s Admissions Team, following Lewisham:  Determined Admissions Criteria. If the school is oversubscribed places will be allocated to:

  1. Children who are Looked After
  2. Children with a medical or social need
  3. Siblings of children already in school
  4. Children who live closest to the school

Admission to Nursery

At Sandhurst Nursery we promote a safe and nurturing environment, enabling children to grow in confidence as individuals and develop an understanding of kindness and respect towards others. We do this through providing a creative, broad and fun play-based curriculum. The environment and experienced staff aim to foster children’s natural curiosity, encouraging them to become critical thinkers who embrace the challenges they meet.

Children usually start Nursery in the September after they turn three. We offer morning part time places (15 hours) and some full time places (30 hours), depending on eligibility.

The Nursery school day is Monday to Friday:
Part time: 9.00 – 12.00
Full Time: 9.00 – 3.00

All children will automatically receive 15 hours of free childcare (which is equal to a part-time place), but any parents applying for a full-time place MUST meet the criteria to obtain the extra funding for the school.  You can check the criteria by visiting this link  The Government 30 hours free childcare .  You will need to apply for this funding and provide your ’30 hour code’ to the school at least 4 weeks before the term in which your child is due to start

For children due to start Nursery in September 2024, those children born 1st September 2020 – 31st August 2021, please complete the form in the link below. It must be returned to the school office, before 1st March 2024, to ensure you are offered a place during our offer round for 2024/2025 school year.

  2. Children with a medical or social need
  3. Siblings of children already in school
  4. Children who live closest to the school
